Our Rewards Ceremonies took place on the school playground in the glorious sun. It was a lovely celebration for all of the children in our school. We are incredibly lucky teachers. The videos are on OneDrive:

  • Confirmed positive cases

    Sun 11 Jul 2021

Sadly, we currently have two confirmed (unrelated) positive cases of COVID in school.

All relevant staff and pupils have been contacted to begin self isolation.

    Key points:

    • Only pupils identified as close contacts will have received a letter.
    • All close contacts are advised to organise a PCR test (at a test centre) not a LFT test in the home straight away even if they don't have symptoms due to the increasing spread in our area.
    • The end of the isolation period is stated clearly in the letter.
    • The rest of the household can go about their normal daily life unless the isolating child develops symptoms.
    • All other pupils can attend school as normal.

Please contact headteacher@anthonybek.derbyshire.sch.uk if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Message from the Director of Public Health for Derbyshire

    Sun 11 Jul 2021

Please read the letter sent by Dean Wallace, the Director of Public Health for Derbyshire (sent by e-mail and in parents section on this website- letters). Below are the key points.

New symptoms have been identified for the new variant of COVID 19.

    The additional symptoms are:

    • tummy ache

    • sore throat

    • headaches

    • runny nose

    • sneezing

    • joint pain

    • muscle aches or generally feeling poorly.

    • loss of appetite

    • diarrhoea

    • feeling or being sick

    • muscle ache

    • feeling drowsy

    • tiredness

Anyone with a high temperature, a new continuous cough and a loss or change to sense of smell or taste should self-isolate immediately and book a test in the same way.

We are also advising everyone to take a PCR test if they experience a tummy ache, sore throat, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, feeling or being sick, headaches, joint pain, muscle ache, runny nose, sneezing, feeling drowsy, tiredness, muscle aches or generally feeling poorly, as it could be a sign that they have coronavirus.
