COVID update

Dear Parents/Carers,

COVID REGULATIONS REMINDER

As we are gradually easing our national lockdown regulations we think it is important to let you know how this effects our school.

Schools recently received their latest COVID guidelines from the Government – the only change in there was that Secondary age pupils no longer need to wear masks in lessons. In primary schools the guidelines are the same as they were before.

This means:

The children MUST stay within their bubble.

Parents still need to wear masks when bringing and fetching their children.

Children need to observe the 2 metre rule wherever possible.

If any children or staff test positive – this will result in a whole bubble being sent home to isolate for 10 days. Clearly this is something that we do not want to do.

If any child or adult in your household has any COVID symptoms (high temperature, new persistent cough etc) they need to have a PCR test at a recognised test centre and children should not return to school until they receive a negative result. Please be aware that the Lateral Flow Test is NOT suitable for children to use.

Like you, we are very frustrated that we still can’t hold whole school assemblies, play together and eat together but it is so important that we stick to the guidelines – now more than ever as we have come so far and we do not want further lockdowns.

As soon as we hear of any changes, we will of course let you know.

Thank you for your continued support – please stay safe.

Kind regards,

Mrs Johnson
