  • Key Stage One play

    Thu 19 Dec 2019

    KS1 Nativity.

KS1 wowed us all with their stunning performance of Little Angel Gets Her Wings. The children worked so hard to learn their lines and all of the songs.

Well done KS1, you were fantastic!

  • It's the choir again!

    Wed 18 Dec 2019

Wow - yet another fantastic choir performance. This time they sung in Mansfield, just outside the Four Seasons. Despite the cold, the children sang really well and it was lovely to see "our groupies" watching again.

This time we had some different children to sing solos and duets and they all did really well.

  • Choir at Kingsmill

    Tue 17 Dec 2019

Yesterday the choir took a trip to Kingsmill hospital to perform in their foyer. It was lovely to see so many parents and friends again (I could say groupies.) The children performed a medley of Christmas songs and it was nice to see so many children singing solos or duets. A lot of passing people stopped to comment on how good they were and at the end of the singing we were treated to a goody bag from Santa.

It was another lovely festive occasion.

  • Choir at Shirebrook

    Mon 16 Dec 2019

Last Wednesday, Mrs Johnson and I took over 30 children to sing at the Shirebrook Concert. We arrived for the start for 7.30 and the children listened to lots of performers from the Academy - singers, pianists and violinists. The children found it interesting to see what kinds of things they could be doing if they go to Shirebrook.

The concert over ran and we did not take centre stage until about nine o'clock. Some of our children are only 6 and sitting down, they were nearly asleep but once they took to the stage the whole building came alive. The performance was fantastic and I felt very proud to be sitting and watching our children perform so well.

Many thanks must go to all the parents and friends who came to support the children and of course Mrs Johnson who has practised with the children to get them to such a high standard.

have a look at the pictures of the event.

  • Carols and Mince Pies

    Tue 10 Dec 2019

This is one of our favourite events of the year. It was lovely to see so many friends and family join Key Stage 2 for a medley of readings, songs, bells and solos. The children performed brilliantly and after some of the carols, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Every child in the Key stage got to play the hand bells and after having such a short time to practise, the results were amazing.

At the end of the performance, parents were treated to a mince pie and a staff rendition of "Do they know it's Christmas?"

    A wonderfully festive event!

  • Christmas dinner

    Wed 04 Dec 2019
It is definitely beginning to feel like Christmas in school! Yesterday all the children (and staff) wore very festive jumpers as we all sat down to a delicious Christmas dinner. We had a record number of children opted for the dinner and it was enjoyed by all. Many thanks go to Ms King and her team for producing such a lovely feast for us all.
  • The Christmas Tree Festival

    Tue 03 Dec 2019
Earlier today all the children walked down to the Church to seeĀ  the decorated Christmas trees. They all looked beautiful and Rev Karen got some of our children to dress up and perform their version of the Nativity. Have a look at some of our photographs.
  • Book swap

    Tue 03 Dec 2019

We couldn't believe how many books were brought into school last week for our Book Swap! There was well over 100 beautiful books for all ages and all types of interest. The children who brought them in got chance to choose books to take home and we still had books left over so that every child in the main school could take at least one 'new' book home.

The books that were left are going to go into the Nursery so that even more children can benefit from them.

Thank you very much for supporting this activity. It was lovely to have such positive comments from parents too.
