  • Whitehall and The World Cup Top Trumps

    Fri 22 Jun 2018 Josh L and Thomas P

From Monday 18th June to Friday 22nd June some Year 5 and 6 pupils went to Whitehall and camped in tents for 4 nights. They had an amazing and adventurous time and participated in lots of exciting activities! The people that went to Whitehall were split up into 3 groups. They did many activities such as canoeing, abseiling etc. On the first night they went on a 4-5 mile walk.

However, the people that didn’t go to Whitehall went into the Year 6 classroom and did many activities and here are a few of them. They learnt about the World Cup and where it is taking place. They tasted different foods from different countries around the world, such as Poland. They also made top trumps cards and they drew a massive picture of a mascot.

A Mile a Day Keeps the Doctor Away…

At Anthony Bek, we always strive to do our best and stick to the Crusader code. Another important part of our ethos and determination, is to complete the Daily Mile and work hard to beat our times. Many children throughout school have already beat their time and are excited and motivated to continue to beat previous times. ‘The aim of The Daily Mile is to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of our children – regardless of age, ability or personal circumstances.’ https://thedailymile.co.uk/ Take a look at The Daily Mile website to find out more about the initiative and challenge yourself to do even more to keep yourself active and healthy.

Let's see who makes the leader board this week!

    Dig for Victory!

Have you noticed anything different about the planters outside Key Stage 1? On Monday 4th June, Miss Appleton and her 14-18 Explorer unit – Beauchief ESU, tackled the mass of foliage and have revealed this large area ready for a new project. Miss Appleton has some exciting plans in the making for this plot, so watch this space!

Thank you to Miss Appleton and Beauchief ESU for your hard work.
