Oral health leaflet

Thank you for visiting our oral health page. Here you will find information to support your child in brushing their teeth correctly, links to useful websites to share with your children and all of the information that you will need to download the brush DJ app. Enjoy!

We are extremely excited about our school's oral health week which will be 25th September-29th September. During this week every class in school will be learning about how to keep their mouths healthy and why it is so important. We will be sending information home to support you in perfecting your child's tooth brushing routine with a tooth brushing chart for them to fill in each day. For each child that brushes their teeth correctly twice a day, there will be a prize to win!

Ensuring that you child brushes their teeth twice a day for 2 minutes is extremely important!

We understand that this can seem like a very boring task and so have found an app to make it more interesting.

The app is called 'Brush DJ' and plays up to date songs, for 2 minutes, whilst your child brushes their teeth.

It is a free app, if you would like more information please click on the link below:

Healthy eating plays a big part in keeping our children's teeth healthy. The 'Change for Life' website and app are very helpful tools in understanding how to become food smart to improve overall health. Please click the link below for more information:
Colgate have a fantastic website with lots of information about how to teach your children to brush their teeth, how to motivate children to brush their teeth and why it is important. One of our favourite features for young children is called 'Colgate Two Minute Tales'. These are a selection of stories that last exactly two minutes, which is how long your children should take to brush their teeth each time. We think that it is perfect as an introduction to the teeth brushing routine. There are also fun games and activities to do together at home! Please click the link to their page below:
The NHS Choices website also provides a lot of useful information such as how your child should brush their teeth, links to other useful websites, where your nearest dentist is and what to expect when you visit the dentist. We have also added a useful series of photos to support you in talking to your child about their visit to the dentist. Please click the link to NHS Choices and the photo cards below:
