Harvest activities

Harvest Festival

On Wednesday 17th October the Harvest festival took place in the main hall. All of the children were really excited. Each class had prepared something special for the parents, there was a rap. Poems, prayers and information about harvest around the world.

Reverend Karen then hosted a competition where Jake and Neeve had to describe a fruit or vegetable by touch alone to the rest of us and we had to guess what it was.

Lots and lots of food had been donated very kindly by the parents, Rev. Karen took this to the food bank in Shirebrook after the service.

There was also a competition run by the Derbyshire Catering Service in which the children had to make some kind of animal out of fruit and vegetables. There were lots of entries and the school winner was Abbie Steel. The Catering team chose Humpty Dumpty by Oliver and Rose Bollington. This will go through to the Derbyshire round of the competition.

Good luck to them and thank you to all the parents who helped by providing the food and ideas.
